Construction 1: Our Production Kit

To gather the necessary footage to construct our opening sequence, there was a large variety of different equipment which was integral.

Camera Kit:
  • Canon Legria HF G30 Camcorder
  • A furry shotgun microphone
  • A tripod
  • Two batteries and their charger
  • A pair of headphones
We also planned to use a camera jib for a long-shot which would look down on the poker table, however we did not get this shot in the end.
Lighting Kit:
As our shoot was in our school's studio, there was lighting equipment pre-installed for us to use.

  • Four lights on stands
  • A spotlight - placed above the table
  • Gloves - for safety reasons
Miscellaneous Kit:
  • A clapper board - on which we could record the scene, take, director, camera operator and date.
  • Our shoot board
  • A whiteboard marker and cloth - to edit the information on the clapper board.
All of this equipment was very useful during our main shoot, although we did have trouble setting up the lights. It was tricky to get the lights in the right spot as the arrangement of our actors meant that we had to light each person individually. However, some of our shots require our actors to move, which meant that there were instances in which the lighting was mediocre during their movement.
